Questions
What caterers, photographers, florists, etc. do you recommend?
Visit our blog to learn more about our vendors, to download
our forms and to ask questions about your event.
When does the hourly rate start?
The hourly building rate is charged from the time that your caterer
arrives until your caterer has left for the evening. If you need
additional set up time earlier in the day (for floral design, extensive
décor work, etc.) the building can be made available for
a reduced charge of $60 per hour.
What is Homewood responsible for?
Homewood takes care of the set up of all the tables, chairs, linens,
china, silver, glassware, and any of our décor items rented.
The set-up will be in place when your caterer arrives. Outdoor set-up,
however, is provided by the caterer. Homewood will get all rented
items in the outdoor area and your caterer will be responsible for
getting the items placed properly. Chairs at the ceremony site will
be delivered, set-up, and taken away by our contracted rental company.
Homewood will take care of breaking down all the tables, chairs
and linens, while your caterer is responsible for washing and putting
away all of the china, silverware and glassware. Homewood is also
responsible for cleaning the building with the exception of the
kitchen, which is the caterer's responsibility.
Should we have insurance?
Although it is not required by Homewood, it is a good idea to secure
insurance for your event, especially if you have guests drinking.
Because Homewood does not provide any alcohol, the host is legally
responsible for drinking guests. Check your homeowner's insurance
policy to find out if you are covered for an event away from your
home. You may also purchase wedding insurance at www.wedsafe.com
May we have candles inside?
Any lit candles inside the building must be contained by glass.
What additional fees are there?
Caterers, Florists and Cake Bakers pay a 10% commission to Homewood
based on their total invoice, minus tax and service, with the client.
What style of payment does Homewood take?
Visa, Mastercard, personal check if paid at least one week in advance,
money order, cashiers check, and old fashioned cash.
How do we hold a date?
A signed Contract, Release and Indemnity, and Rules sheet, along
with a 50% deposit (based on estimate total) holds a date. We request
the Information Sheet be submitted as well, with a photo of the
clients for our file. The photo helps us remember our clients faces.
What is the cancellation policy?
50% refund of the deposit will be returned if cancelled 6 months
prior to the function. If the event is cancelled inside of 6 months
of the contracted date, the deposit is non-refundable.
Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit, you may continue to have a great time as
long as you wish.
