DETAILS

Pricing

Homewood is priced by the hour. The rates vary according to the calendar. All the tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware and china are priced individually and separately from the building. The ceremony site is also priced separately from the building, at $1000 and includes up to 100 chairs. More chairs can be added if your numbers are beyond 100 people.

We will customize an estimate for you when you visit Homewood for a tour. The estimate is based on a 6-hour time frame, which is meant to encompass your event duration plus set-up and break down time for your caterer. You are not limited or restricted to 6 hours; we simply use that timeframe as a basis for your estimate. If your event runs longer than 6 hours, you will be billed after your event for the additional time; if your event ends and your total time in the building is short of 6 hours, you will be refunded any overage paid. All of your rental and décor items will be itemized on your estimate. The estimate is flexible, and can be modified at any time to reflect changes made to your event plans.

Catering
You are welcome to use any Caterer on our preferred vendor list.

Bar
You may provide your own bar beverages at Homewood. Your caterer must provide a bartender to serve any alcohol. A licensed bartender is required for all events where alcohol is served. If mixed drinks are served, you must acquire a Limited Special Occasion Permit from the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Monroe must sign off on the permit application before it is submitted to the state. If your caterer has an off-premise liquor license, a copy of such may be provided to Homewood in lieu of the Special Occasion Permit. No permit is necessary to serve beer, wine or champagne.

What are we required to rent from Homewood?
Tables, chairs, linen, silverware, glassware and china. A $1.50 surcharge will be assessed per person for any outside china or glassware used. Clients are welcome to substitute silverware, glassware and china with disposables.

Does Homewood provide any decorative items?
Our decor package is $350, and includes use of all of our decorative items, votives with candles, and live greenery. The $350 also includes set-up.

Questions

What caterers, photographers, florists, etc. do you recommend?
Visit our blog to learn more about our vendors, to download our forms and to ask questions about your event.

When does the hourly rate start?
The hourly building rate is charged from the time that your caterer arrives until your caterer has left for the evening. If you need additional set up time earlier in the day (for floral design, extensive décor work, etc.) the building can be made available for a reduced charge of $60 per hour.

What is Homewood responsible for?
Homewood takes care of the set up of all the tables, chairs, linens, china, silver, glassware, and any of our décor items rented. The set-up will be in place when your caterer arrives. Outdoor set-up, however, is provided by the caterer. Homewood will get all rented items in the outdoor area and your caterer will be responsible for getting the items placed properly. Chairs at the ceremony site will be delivered, set-up, and taken away by our contracted rental company.

Homewood will take care of breaking down all the tables, chairs and linens, while your caterer is responsible for washing and putting away all of the china, silverware and glassware. Homewood is also responsible for cleaning the building with the exception of the kitchen, which is the caterer's responsibility.

Should we have insurance?
Although it is not required by Homewood, it is a good idea to secure insurance for your event, especially if you have guests drinking. Because Homewood does not provide any alcohol, the host is legally responsible for drinking guests. Check your homeowner's insurance policy to find out if you are covered for an event away from your home. You may also purchase wedding insurance at www.wedsafe.com

May we have candles inside?
Any lit candles inside the building must be contained by glass.

What additional fees are there?
Caterers, Florists and Cake Bakers pay a 10% commission to Homewood based on their total invoice, minus tax and service, with the client.

What style of payment does Homewood take?
Visa, Mastercard, personal check if paid at least one week in advance, money order, cashiers check, and old fashioned cash.

How do we hold a date?
A signed Contract, Release and Indemnity, and Rules sheet, along with a 50% deposit (based on estimate total) holds a date. We request the Information Sheet be submitted as well, with a photo of the clients for our file. The photo helps us remember our clients faces.

What is the cancellation policy?
50% refund of the deposit will be returned if cancelled 6 months prior to the function. If the event is cancelled inside of 6 months of the contracted date, the deposit is non-refundable.

Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit, you may continue to have a great time as long as you wish.
